An Executive Committee Meeting was held on Tuesday and the following changes to its composition are announced:
Dominic Hall has resigned from the Committee and Andy Copestick has been appointed as Chairman. Julie Hulett and Paul Medlicott have been appointed to fill two vacancies on the Committee and Julie Hulett has been appointed as Secretary. All members of the Committee will be offering themselves for re-election at the forthcoming AGM.
The Committee would like to express their warm appreciation and thanks to Dom for taking up the Chairman’s role at short notice after the sudden resignation of the previous Chairman and for guiding the club through the significant developments that have taken place since then.
On 18th June notice was given that the 2018 AGM would be held at the club on Thursday 12th July 2018. Most disappointedly only four members (other than committee members) attended and the meeting was postponed as the necessary quorum had not been reached. The AGM will now take place on Tuesday 25th September 2018 at the Club commencing at 7pm. We urge members to attend this meeting if they possibly can.
The AGM gives members an opportunity to discuss the management of the club with the Committee. All members of the Committee are prepared to stand for re-election but there are still vacancies and nominations for new members will be most welcome.
The Committee have discussed the current court rates and it has also been decided that no changes to the rates will be made at the present time so all courts will continue to be charged from 1st September at the current rates. Potential subscriptions for 2019 have been reviewed and the recommendation is that there should be no changes from the subscriptions charged in 2018. The reasons for this recommendation will be discussed at the AGM and members will be requested to ratify the recommendation.
The formal Notice, Agenda and Nomination form and other documents will follow separately.
