Keeping Tennis Active

Dear Members,

We hope that you are all keeping well in these difficult times and we’re sure you must be missing your tennis at the club as we move into the second phase of lockdown.

In an effort to keep all our adult and junior members tennis active our coaches have been thinking about ways that you can stay fit and active. They have voluntarily put together a short sharp weekly training programme which Liam will be videoing and posting on our SDTC facebook page.

•WEEK 1: Just copy Liam doing serve and groundstroke drills (the drills theme changes each week)
•SIMPLE: “Drill Til You Drop” exercises with a racket but no ball will keep you fit, improve your footwork and maintain your racket skills.
•SHORT: 3 x drills for only 3 x minutes each = 9 x minutes tennis drilling
•MAKE SURE: You warm-up and cool down before and after exercise
•BESPOKE: You can build your own weekly programme eg: BRONZE = 3 x pwk – SILVER = 4 x pwk – GOLD = 5 x pwk – PRO = 6 x per wk.
