Good morning,
Firstly, thank you to everyone who has been so involved in touchtennis in Devon so far. As a club and a team, we are very grateful and happy to have seen many of you enjoying yourselves in the touchtennis sessions and tournaments that we have held in the last few months.
We are hoping to help touchtennis develop and grow within Devon, and I would like to share some upcoming opportunities with all of you and show you why you should give it a try!
COACHING, MATCH PLAY AND PRACTICE SESSIONS
We currently offer a weekly practice session at the club, which is open to absolutely anybody. These sessions run every Thursday evening from 19:00-20:00.
These sessions, once booked, will cost £3.50 for non-members or just £3.00 if you are a member of the South Devon Tennis Centre. We welcome players of any age, ability and level of tennis experience with open arms, and guarantee you will have a willing hitting partner every time you attend. You don't even need to bring your own equipment! If you would like a bit of coaching, there will be at least three members of Devon's elite touchtennis squad there every week to help you with your game.
Playing this game will dramatically improve your hand-eye coordination, your reactions and netplay, and your awareness of shot selection and strategy in tennis for both singles and doubles. It's great for your tennis, great for your fitness and great fun. Come and give it a go!
BRING A BUDDY - A TASTE OF TOUCHTENNIS
Still not sure whether to try it? Well, we've got an offer for you!
Come and try our touchtennis taster session on Thursday 28th February from 19:00-20:00. Bring along a friend who has never played tennis before, and enjoy an hour of touchtennis for FREE! You can play on our indoor courts for an hour, and you don't even have to bring your own equipment! We can accommodate you if you want just a gentle hit, a competitive practice match or just have some fun and burn a few calories in the process.

A COMPETITIVE BOX LEAGUE
Several of you have already signed up to our touchtennis box league, and there is still room for more of you. It is free to sign up for this league, which will provide you with an opportunity for competitive matches with players who are looking for some new opponents to play against. It is a fantastic chance to practice your tennis skills, improve your fitness, have a ton of fun on court and enjoy outwitting your opponents in a sport that levels the playing field for people of all ages, abilities and sporting backgrounds.
There is no regular time commitment or sign-up payment needed. You simply arrange your matches with your opponents at a time that you choose, ensuring you play during the 1-month period following your sign-up.
The first month of the box league will begin on Monday 25th February. If you wish to sign up, all you have to do is either add your name to the sign-up sheet in the reception area of the South Devon Tennis Centre or email me on this address with your name and phone number.
TOUCHTENNIS TOUR EVENTS
As a club, we will be hosting a variety of events on the touchtennis tour, which will provide you with a number of competitive opportunities should you wish to play a bit more. We often take a team of players away on trips to tournaments around the UK - we have already done so twice in 2019!
If you want to broaden your horizons, spend a few weekends away with some new people, and obtain yourself a world ranking in a fantastic and fun sport, sign yourself up here!
