SINGLES BOX LEAGUES FROM 2ND DECEMBER

Dear All

I have posted the new Singles Box Leagues which can be seen through the myCourts booking web site using the "Leagues"tab. Once you view the Leagues you can use the prompts to contact other players in your box and also enter your results. CAN I SUGGEST THE WINNING PLAYER ENTERS THE RESULT THROUGH THE WEBSITE RATHER THAN USING THE OLD PAPER BASED SYSTEM ON NOTICE BOARD.

As we have a number of new players I have made the boxes seven players which hopefully gives plenty of opportunities for matches. Please be understanding of differing standards-I have tried to place people in similar boxes but inevitably there may be some discrepancies.

ONE BONUS POINT TO EACH PLAYER FOR MATCHES COMPLETED BY 31ST DECEMBER
ALL MATCHES TO BE COMPLETED BY SUNDAY 24TH JANUARY

The scoring system is explained under the Leagues tab but I have been asked just to clarify so here goes with an example

--Federer plays Nadal in a box match on Christmas Day.
--They play to 8-8 so to decide the match they play a seven point tie break
--Federer wins the tie break and hence the match 9-8
--SO POINTS ALLOCATED AS FOLLOWS
--MATCH RESULT FEDERER 9. NADAL 8
--FEDERER TWO ADDITIONAL POINTS FOR WINNING. SO 11-8
--BOTH PLAYERS ONE POINT FOR PLAYING MATCH HENCE 12-9
--BOTH PLAYERS ONE POINT FOR PLAYING BEFORE 31ST DECEMBER SO 13-10

FINAL MATCH SCORE 13-10. HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE!!

I hope that you all have some enjoyable singles matches and also have the opportunity to play some different opponents.

The best of health to all and I hope you are all able to enjoy your tennis and also the festive period.

Alan Donaldson
