Dear Members,
You may remember the considerable difficulties last year which resulted from the employees of SHDC's waste contractor (FCC) parking in the sports clubs' car park. In September FCC submitted a planning application to change the use of some land to a lorry park just across Ermington Road from the club.
The club raised an objection on the basis that no provision was made in the application for car parking by employees. Many members raised similar objections, for which we would like to thank them.
As a result of the objections, the club was contacted by FCC's agent which led to the submission of further planning information providing details of provision of employee parking facilities at FCC's site.
Conditional Planning Permission was granted on 19th January for the Change in Use, one of the conditions being that FCC provide car parking in accordance with their submitted plan and statement - exactly the outcome we were hoping for.
Hopefully the issue won't re-occur but if anyone believes cars are being parked by FCC employees (or others not using the sports clubs or playing fields), we would be grateful if you would inform the club manager, Sue.
