Firstly, a big thank you to Annie Haigh and Jenny Richardson for weeding the outdoor patio area in time for the Devon Champs. Also a big thank you to Les Youens for painting the Outside and tidying it up. Ben Semmence for cutting the grass on a regular basis and Pam and Chris for planting all the flowers. Without your help, the outdoor area would have looked “tired”. Lots of people commented on the area and thought it looked great. Again, Thankyou.
A brief update on what is happening in the next few weeks and dates for your diaries.
AGM 17 September 2019 at 7pm. (Club play will commence after the AGM). Please try and make it if you can we need a percentage of members to attend to enable it to go ahead and it is an opportunity for you to have a say.
Opening of the Outdoor Courts.
On the 21st September we are having a grand opening of the outdoor courts. From 1-4.30 will be family time where anyone can come and join in. We will be having a bouncy castle, train, mini tennis, adult tennis, touch tennis and taster sessions from both our boot camp with Sarah and Yoga taster with Hayley. A BBQ will be available and hopefully so will the sunshine.
American Tournament. This will follow the opening day (21 September) from 5pm until close (Members Only). You don’t have to have a partner (Partners will be picked out of a hat). There will be a curry and chilli with sides throughout the evening. So come along and join in. £12/head for the evening which can be paid for at Reception.
Winter Challenge. There is still time to enter this round robin. Closing date is 23 September 2019. Ladies/Mixed and Mens Doubles, Application forms and rules are available on the Reception Desk.
